There's a fundamental lack of willingness to open up the debate on the Allocation of Share in this deanery.

22 ordained ministers x £53,100 each = £1.2million

An abatement procedures identifies a liability of c£900K to the deanery.

Surely there has to be a question asked about a) do we still need 22 paid ministers and b) what does that £53,100 involve.

Why can't we discuss this?????

"If the diocese doesn't meet its budget, there will have to be redundancies among clergy..."

Problem is "mate" that doesn't scare me, and represents decison making and leadership.
We wait until the bank tells you to make that decision.
LEAD for Christ's sake.

Cut 8 posts.

8 x £53,100 = £424,000 saving.

Can we manage with 10??

What about 5??
Model this - come up with some realistic alternatives.

Actually, I think I can afford 0.6 of a minister. That's all I'm willing to pay for.
Heres the money - now deploy him somewhere else three days a week...

There are SO MANY more creative ways of looking at this
