Days can be different

by birdsong @ Thursday, Jul. 06, 2006 - 01:48:08 pm

Did meet up with ST yesterday after his appointments were cancelled and we had another opportunity to talk over a pub lunch before he flew off. Arrangements have been made, but who knows whetehr they will come off. Certainly don't intend to leave it four more years!

But for one reason or another, today is a pile of poo.
Woke up this morning to find this had been slipped through the letterbox overnight:-

It has just come to my notive that you are building a wall between your property and the rear garden of 205 PR rd.
The wall has been built on the property of 205 and is not in line with the previous fence which defined the boundary.
The wall should be removed within the next seven days and rebuilt within your boundary. With immediate effect no further access is allowed onto the property of 205 Priory Road to carry any work out.
As the Power of Attorney to my father all arrangements regarding access should be made through me. You may contact me on the phone number at the head of this letter or by post.
As a guide for you your building line can be taken by plumbline from your guttering.
Again I will remind you that no access to the rear garden without my permission is allowed. Do not under any circumstances contact my father regarding this matter

Still not sure as yet how to deal with this letter.
There was 'no previous fence defining the boundary'.
The old man who occupies 205 PR Rd (our neighbour) is wonderful, loves the kids and has on about ten million occasions seen the wall, talked to us and the building and raised no objections whatever.
Power of Attorney does not take away the old man's rights to make his own decisions.
We are making good the only part of the boundary to his property with any security. All other fences are either missing, overgrown or derelict.
The line of the wall follows the edge of existing patio foundations for our property, and runs into an area of about 3ft of land that should be empty to allow side access to both properties.

Then at work, I get a letter form the Inland Revenue informing us that we have 'overlooked' payment of the NIC/PAYE contributions for April.

So that's three things (inc the VG). Serves me right for being a bit lapse on the prayers lately and coming much less into His presence than I know I should.
Hopefully not to late to re-dress the balance and seek some re-assurance and guidance.

MAybe over dinner with some friends tonight we can get some light back.
