A big Boys Bike

by birdsong @ Friday, Apr. 07, 2006 - 03:54:49 pm

What better way to find inspiration than to spend a morning at home with the kids.
And if its warm and sunny - even better (tho its raining now again, and my socks are onthe radiator steaming off!!!)
Trx took Ali for her six month check-up at ENT this morning, and to save calling in favours, I stayed home with the others. Flo and I potted on some sunflowers (we've got seven come up, tho they only bought one each in a pot for a competition at school). last year we did ridiculously well and hight he biggest ones in the neighbourhood. nearly 13ft the biggest one - shining in the kids bedroom window!
i thin its to do with the skanky washing up water we fed them - cat food and bits of pasta. Lovely...
While we did this, Stan and LC played in the sandpit and on their trikes, until he came in and wanted to make "arrows". They stick them all round the house, to give directions form one room to the next.
Settled quickly to cutting and colouring - in fact they all did - so I took the chance to get into the garage (scary cold place) and do some work on his "big boys bike" which we were given last summer but was too big for him then.
Seems to have repaired OK (just a dodgy valve on the front tyre) and cleaned up, so he delighted in riding it round to his friend's house for lunch!
He's a star, and was beaming to have such a treasure.
It makes you feel damn good, steadying a four yr old wibbling around at high speed on his first proper bike...

Office now tho. Too much to do.
Its taking ages just leaving notes and instructions for next week.
I can feel myself being called in more than once.
