Things go from busy to crazy.
Regular emails from people now (passed on to me) wanting to know all kinds of mad things.
Album sales figures??
I wish i did know this, it would help enormously with the biog.
An album spends 7 weeks inthe top 50 in 1980, reaching number 18.
How many copies would that be? More than nowadays, that's for sure...
John has announced that his first solo album of electronic music, entitled "Tiny Coloured Pieces" is now finished. Past experience suggests that there is still any time you can think of before it is actually released. People already want to know the tracklisting!!
There are two albums with Louis being worked on, one of which is Crash and Burn live. I expect this will come out shortly before the new album, due for release in autumn to coincide with a 'world' tour?? A world tour - now that is something to get excited about.
Personally, I'm campaigning for a high profile single to be released off it, featuring the 1997 remix of Burning Car which John and Louis did on the Exotour. The time would be perfect now for this to happen - he really needs to realise how highly his work is regarded across the industry. There is a tide of Foxx turning right now and this could be a renaissance year if handled correctly.
R* has formally announced the imminent re-issue of the Island albums, and of course people are going mad speculating about possible extra track listings. Since Billy shat on the project, there aren't going to be half as many as we first hoped.
He's also working on post-production of the album he's done with Robin Guthrie, although the guitarist doesn't seem to rate the job very highly, describing it recently as "unintelligible" in his blog! We shall see - I haven't heard any of it yet.
This lot has just turned up online foxx videos
which includes the ATP stuff I haven't seen before.
More importantly though is the appearance of the CO3 DVD promotion added by Karborn two weeks ago. Unannounced. Again!
I can't work out how to download it though...perhaps I can find a man who can - R* and I were discussing it earlier.
Why do they do this. No wonder people get annoyed when they don't know that stuff is out there.
Does this mean though that the DVD release is imminent??

I'm quite pleased with the stuff I have written over the past few days from the 1980 period. There's so much left tho - its going to be easily the most detailed section. Need to stop going forward though and catch up with myself. The American tour bit needs linking in.
I'm not going to rewrite before I finish (good tip that!) but I need to bring out more the fact that the album is influenced more by art and literature than by music.
