The best laid plans…

by birdsong @ Friday, Dec. 02, 2005 - 08:28:05 pm

Hmmm.
Seems the Warden has decided that he would "not advise" me to spend this evening in the old church.
Its true, there are loose tiles on the roof and parts of the plaster around the vaulted ceiling are unstable. Thats why its been closed to worship for the last eight years.
And the storm raging outside will be a test of the building. On Sunday, we'll have a good look around for any damage.
If all is well, then he says the PA can stay set up and I can use it next week.
He has a point.

Ho hum...

Drinks carton recycling

I just get back in and Biscuit comes online.
Hurrah.
And D has apaprently gone home for the weekend.
So now more rumblings and grumblings about the music - I can just have a cup of tea and settle to working up the third page design for the Pocket guide. Got the headers sorted, but now just need ot adapt it for a double information spread.
Some of the ads are really crap looking and will unbalance whatever I come up with anyway, but at least I will know I have a design structure in place that (hopefully) hold shte thing together.
Waiting waiting waiting for new chapter headings from the Head of Communications at the Council.
But its Friday afternoon....
Early December.
And raining.
All sorted tonight for the Cathedral Oceans experience. The PA is set up in the old church. Mike and I will look like a couple of old tramps in there with our blankets and flasks - it is going to be freezing!!!
Didn't manage to set things up yesterday. Went first over to the Wilsons to deliver Eleanor's birthday card and stayed an hour for tea and cakes with ALice and Flo.
Then went over to Matt's to deliver the first quarter of the book. 120 pages altogether as a text file so I couldntbe bothered to print it out twice. Not bad so far. Set in 17th century Quebec. Roughly the same period as Perfume I think.

Picked up three bags full of drinks cartons for recycling today. This project has really taken off during the past six months.I reckon I'm sending about 50 a week up to the Mill now

Everyone should be doing this.

Sitting int he office now with the Visitor Guide all done and waiting for Trx to turn up for our lunchtime. It will be great to spend some time with her on her own for a change. Elsi will be with a friend. She's been a little grump lately, probably teething agin, but generally screaming and shouting just about ALL the time. Squitty bum too, which just makes everything worse.
Currently I'm readin "Shadows on the Rock" by Willa Cather which I've had to download off the net because its out of print.

She's just txted me. Didn't you just know that was going to happen.

More later
